Combining My Love of Burlap & Goodwill

If you are on Pinterest then you must also know that right now the "in" thing is  BURLAP!  I have happily jumped on the burlap bandwagon.   I LOVE it!  Some might actually say, obsessed.  I wouldn't go that far but I have yet to see a project made with some sort of burlap that I didn't like and want to recreate.

This is something that I put together to hang above my bed.   I made the burlap wreath myself (I will post a tutorial in the future when I make one for my mom.) The "His" and "Hers" frames I bought at my local Goodwill for $4.00 each.   They still had the sticker on the back from Bed Bath & Beyond.   I just added the burlap bows.

You'll have to forgive my photography skills.  I never take good pictures and I promise this looks better in person.   (I'm thinking this should be disclaimer on all my posts with photos I've taken myself.)

Do you shop at Goodwill, Salvation Army or any Thrift store?  I do and I'm proud to admit it!

How Do You Like My New Look?

Blogaholic Designs”=

I wanted to give a BIG shout-out to Emily over at Blogaholic Designs for my new look.

I had been searching and searching for a design that was both my style and affordable.  I really didn't think that it would be so hard or take me so long.   I actually stumbled across Emily's site by accident.   I had been searching Google Images for  header designs that would give me inspiration.   Now, if you ask me what keywords I searched, I couldn't tell you.  I believe it was fate that I came across her site that night.

In no time at all after I filled out the form to request a blog template/design (and some extras), Emily got to work and had it up the very next day!  I am one for instant gratification, so I was quite a happy camper!

I hope you enjoy my blog design as much as I do.  If you are interested in great designs, great service at an even greater price you HAVE to go check out Emily over at BlogaholicDesigns.com .   I'm glad I did!

Off To Rhode Island For Some R&R&B

I'm heading to Rhode Island this weekend with my mother and sister for a little "girls getaway." We'll be scouting for a summer vacation house somewhere in the Narragansett area.
Sure, we could find one online but this is a good excuse to go away....just us girls! I've never vacationed there before. We didn't want to make the long, expensive, trek down to the Jersey Shore again.

I NEED this weekend away more then EVER! It's been one of the worst weeks I've had in a very long time. I hope I can shake it off, have a good time and not dwell on the SHIT STORM!

Even though it'll be chilly (mid 40's) I really want to walk on the beach, feel the sand in my toes and have the breeze take all my troubles out into the ocean.

Well... I gotta go pack for my weekend of R&R&B (Rest, Relaxation and Beer) No worries, my mother and sister will do all the driving. I'm only in charge of the TomTom.

What do you have planned for this weekend?

Pottery Barn, Here I Come..

I am constantly getting emails from Pottery Barn, it is usually to inform me of sales. ( Which unfortunately I can't even afford "sale items" ) Today I got one about this "Design the Perfect Bedroom" class and ya know what, I am going to go to it. What the hell right, what do I have to lose, it is free. I am sure it will be fun, and even though I can't afford 80% of the stuff in their store I know I will learn something I can use in the future. (when I hit lotto) Who doesn't love to be around gorgeous home accessories ? I think this is just what I need to make me feel better.
So if you have a Pottery Barn near you, go check out if they are offering any of these decorating classes. If you have gone to one, let me know what you thought of it.
Thanks
xoxo

Check Out My Duct Tape Project

I found this awesome Duck Tape at Target a while ago and knew I just had to have it. First I used it to cover a few of my grandson's baby food jars. I gave one to my mother-in-law and she used it in her bathroom for Q-Tips, then I used one for a tealight holder in my kitchen. Then yesterday I was washing out a pickle jar that was going to the recycle bin and thought, "ooooooh, this is a perfect size" (not too big and not too small)
I've looking for something to put my sweetner packets in for a while, I hate to look at the box they come in sitting on my shelf. So, this is what I came up with it and I just LOVE it!
Don't you??
