Off To Rhode Island For Some R&R&B

I'm heading to Rhode Island this weekend with my mother and sister for a little "girls getaway." We'll be scouting for a summer vacation house somewhere in the Narragansett area.
Sure, we could find one online but this is a good excuse to go away....just us girls! I've never vacationed there before. We didn't want to make the long, expensive, trek down to the Jersey Shore again.

I NEED this weekend away more then EVER! It's been one of the worst weeks I've had in a very long time. I hope I can shake it off, have a good time and not dwell on the SHIT STORM!

Even though it'll be chilly (mid 40's) I really want to walk on the beach, feel the sand in my toes and have the breeze take all my troubles out into the ocean.

Well... I gotta go pack for my weekend of R&R&B (Rest, Relaxation and Beer) No worries, my mother and sister will do all the driving. I'm only in charge of the TomTom.

What do you have planned for this weekend?

Pottery Barn, Here I Come..

I am constantly getting emails from Pottery Barn, it is usually to inform me of sales. ( Which unfortunately I can't even afford "sale items" ) Today I got one about this "Design the Perfect Bedroom" class and ya know what, I am going to go to it. What the hell right, what do I have to lose, it is free. I am sure it will be fun, and even though I can't afford 80% of the stuff in their store I know I will learn something I can use in the future. (when I hit lotto) Who doesn't love to be around gorgeous home accessories ? I think this is just what I need to make me feel better.
So if you have a Pottery Barn near you, go check out if they are offering any of these decorating classes. If you have gone to one, let me know what you thought of it.
Thanks
xoxo

Check Out My Duct Tape Project

I found this awesome Duck Tape at Target a while ago and knew I just had to have it. First I used it to cover a few of my grandson's baby food jars. I gave one to my mother-in-law and she used it in her bathroom for Q-Tips, then I used one for a tealight holder in my kitchen. Then yesterday I was washing out a pickle jar that was going to the recycle bin and thought, "ooooooh, this is a perfect size" (not too big and not too small)
I've looking for something to put my sweetner packets in for a while, I hate to look at the box they come in sitting on my shelf. So, this is what I came up with it and I just LOVE it!
Don't you??

Hi My Name Is Tina..& I'm An Addict

Can I tell you, I am LOVING Pinterest. If you haven't checked it out yet, what the heck are you waiting for?
I've been trying to think of a way to explain exactly what Pinterest is and how it works. I just am not very good at explaining things, especially in writing.
I know, I write a blog and can't write? Believe me, I'm in no-way-shape-or-form a "writer" (as I'm sure it's perfectly clear by posts) Anywhoo... here are some cute little "sayings" that I found on Pinterest, explaining Pinterest.

My New Hobby

It's not the "crafty" kinda hobby.
It's one that doesn't cost any money.
Actually, it saves me money!

IT'S COUPONING!
I've always cut coupons and sometimes I would remember to use them. But not anymore, I've become dedicated to saving money and getting the best deals possible.

I'm not going to get all crazy like those people on Extreme Couponing. I don't plan on having a stock pile of 150 tubes of toothpaste or 80 rolls of paper towels. I think even if I had the room, I wouldn't go that far.

I was so excited and got quite the rush when I did my first CVS deal, I knew right then and there I was hooked. I've seen the blogs and photos of people who do the CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreen's deals. You know the ones I'm talking about. They have a photo of a table full of products that they paid next to nothing for. Well, from now on that's going to be me too.

Here's the photo of my first CVS deal (done 2 weeks ago).

In 2 transactions, I paid a grand total of $6.36 for everything you see here.

(Oh boy.... it's official, I've become "one of those people.")

Now... This Is A Party

I was excited to hear that Dina Manzo is going to have her own show on HGTV, "Dina's Party."

Dina and her sister Caroline were my favorite New Jersey Housewives. It was quite a bummer when she left the show. So to find out she will be back on TV and doing a show on HGTV is a "win-win" in my book.

In Dina's "real life" she is a party/event planner and interior designer. My two most favorite jobs in the whole world. If I could do that and be successful, I would be one happy camper!

The show will focus on the party/event planning part of her business.

"In each episode of Dina's Party, Dina Manzo creates amazing, unforgettable events for her clients at their homes. Dina and the staff at her company, Designer Affair, work with her homeowners, transforming their space into something beautiful and unique to celebrate an important moment in their lives. Whether an incredible anniversary celebration, an over-the-top wedding or a festive graduation party, Dina's parties are memorable ones!" - HGTV.com

Dina's style is a bit more extravagant then mine, but I can't help to admire her and her work.

I couldn't end this post without mentioning the
charity work she does with her organization Project Ladybug. Their mission at Project Ladybug is to enrich the lives of children with life threatening conditions. Check it out, she really is inspiring. I know it makes me to want to be a better person.

So where will you be Monday night, Aug 15th @ 10pm? I know where I'll be.... at Dina's Party! (this episode is only a sneak peak at the show, not it's normal day or time slot)

What's The Rush?

Is it just me or does it seem like we rush through the seasons?

It's Aug. 14th and there's a tree in my yard that the leaves have already started to change.
The stores have been filled with the Back To School supplies since July.

Walmart has had mums out in front of the store for about a week now.

Not to mention I saw this magazine on the shelves just the other day!!
(Seriously?... I love Miss Paula Deen, but come-on)

Why can't we enjoy the season we are in? Why does the next season (or two) need to be shoved down our throats?

Let's all just stop and smell the roses, while it's still SUMMER!!!
